DepHUB's Shamira Ahmed participates in talk that explored the complex link between digitalisation and sustainability.
Digitalisation is transforming every aspect of our lives, from the way we work to the way we interact with the world around us. Drawing on examples of success stories in food systems and trade from around the world, the aim of the talk was to provide a better understanding of the complex relationship between digitalisation and sustainability.
Organised by the Florence School of Transnational Governance (STG), the STG talk on "Is Digitalisation Sustainable?" explored the complex link between digitalisation and sustainability.
The panelists provided a global overview of the Digital Trade Integration Project, a CIVICA and Horizon 2020-funded research project that has created a dataset that will include an index on digital trade integration policies. The overview will also provide insights gained from the project including the pros and cons impacting sustainability of digitalisation.
