DepHUB participates at 2023 DSA Conference on "Crisis in the Anthropocene⸺Rethinking connection and agency for development".
The Development Studies Association (DSA) Conference is an annual event which brings together the global development studies community.
The theme of this year's DSA Conference was "Crisis in the Anthropocene⸺Rethinking connection and agency for development".
On Thursday, 29th June, the DepHUB's Shamira Ahmed was part of the session on “Towards rethinking and decolonising Africa’s development futures: The place of indigenous knowledge”.
Shamira spoke about the importance of indigenous knowledge to navigate the interdependencies between data economy policy and contextually relevant ethical and responsible AI governance that supports a just green- digital twin transition through a circular economy model (CEM) and overall sustainable digital development.
The research presented at the session is part of the DepHUB's on-going project on "Responsible AI for Africa's Just Transition to the Circular Economy".
