DepHUB participates at 2023 TRAIF Conference, an event that brings together research, policy and practice on topics related to responsible use of AI
Organised by the Institute for Ethics in Artificial Intelligence Technical University of Munich, the DepHUB's Shamira Ahmed was part of the session on “Exploring sustainable AI in industry - Examples from Africa and beyond”.
Shamira highlighted that when examining the distributional impacts of AI at each phase of the lifecycle, there needs to be considerations of endowments, existing intersectional structural inequities, and interdependencies between data economy policy and contextually relevant ethical and responsible AI governance, to support a just green- digital twin transition and overall sustainable digital transformation (SDX) , suited to African contextual realities.
The research presented at the session is part of the DepHUB's on-going project on "Responsible AI for Africa's Just Transition to the Circular Economy".
